Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1936

Eugene Kribbs & wife Mildred EUGENE EDD KRIBBS, 84, died Jan. 24, 2004 at his home in Breckenridge, TX, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger, TX. Eugene Kribbs was born June 17, 1919 in Bridgeport, IL, to parents Franklin P. Kribbs and Sarah Emma Cruise. He moved to Strawn in 1921 & to Ranger in 1923. He attended school in Ranger, graduating from Breckenridge High School and also from Texas A&M University in 1942 with a degree in sociology. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in the S.W. Pacific to 1946 and is a veteran of WWII. Mr. Kribbs served in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1971 as a retired Colonel. He received his Masters of Education at North Texas State College. He married Mildred F. Mitchell (RHS-1937) in August of 1940 in Fort Worth. He worked for the Dallas Independent School District from 1949 to 1976, when he moved to Breckenridge. Mr. Kribbs was a member of Gideons International, Masonic Lodge 32nd Degree and a member of A&M Former Students Association. He was also a past president of the Stephens County Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Breckenridge, serving as deacon, and was also a member of the Roughneck Bible Class. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. Mr Kribbs was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and four sisters. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Mildred; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Curly (RHS-1961) Ross and Diane and Jim Anderson; one grand-daughter, Rhonda Ross Welch and husband Matt; and one grandson, Randy Ross; 3 step-grand- children, Staci & J. Taylor, Lisa & Travis Anderson and Amy Anderson; one great-grandchild, Will Welch; and three step-great-grandchildren, Kalli Anderson and Kick and Jack Taylor; one brother, Merle Kribbs; (RHS-1943) and many nieces and nephews. Children of Franklin Phillip Kribbs (1881-1971) & Sarah Emmaline Cruse Kribbs (1884-1944): Waldine Kribbs, Geraldine Kribbs McPheeters, Bernadine Kribbs Blue (RHS-1928), Franklin Phillip (Phil) Kribbs Jr. (RHS-1938), Eugene (Gene) Edd Kribbs (RHS-1936, Breckenridge HS-1938), Yvonne Kribbs Gallagher (RHS-1939) and Merle Wilson "Buster" Kribbs (RHS- 1943.
