MICHAEL PATRICK READY, 80, passed away on Dec. 28,
2003. He was born in Mingus, TX on March 2, 1923 to
Agnes Susan Prew & Patrick Joseph Ready. Michael
attended St. Ritas Catholic School in Ranger, TX. He
graduated from Ranger High School in 1941. Michael
served in U.S. Navy during 1943 and in the U.S. Army
Air Corp from 1944-1946. He graduated from Texas
Christian University in 1952 and retired from Texaco
in 1987 after 35 years of service. He was a life long
member of the Knights of Columbus.
Michael married Jennye Ruth Hooper at Abilene, TX in
1950. Jennye Ruth taught at Ranger High School during
the late 40's. They had two sons and two daughters.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother
Jerome Leo Ready (RHS-1942).
Michael is survived by his wife Jennye Ruth Ready, two
sons, two daughters, two sisters and one sister in law.
The sons are Patrick Eugene Ready of Dallas, TX and
Dr. Thomas Edward Ready of Fargo, ND. The daughters
are Clara Susan McSpadden of Katy, TX and Ruth Ann
Blackwell of Lago Vista, TX. The sisters are Mary
Frances Ready Hodges (RHS-1937) of Eldorado, AR and
Lucy Agnes Ready Maillie (RHS-1938), of Ranger. His
sister-in-law is Christine Wallace Ready (RHS-1946)
of Ranger. He is also survived by five grandchildren;
Bonnie McSpadden of Houston, TX, Matthew McSpadden of
Katy, TX, Drew Blackwell and Lani Blackwell of Lago
Vista, TX and Michael Ready of Fargo, NA. Burial was
in the Catholic Cemetery at Clyde, TX.
