Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1941

Roy Gray ROY L. GRAY, 85, passed away on May 12, 2010 while living in Amarillo, TX and was a 1941 graduate of Ranger High School in Ranger, TX. He was born on July 8, 1924 in Kingsville, TX. His father, Leffel E. Gray, was a longtime Ranger barber and his mother, Maude Gray, ran a Ranger boarding home at 814 Sinclair Ave. Roy had two older brothers: Sylvan Gray (RHS-1929) and L.E. Gray, Jr. (RHS-1935). He graduated in 1937 from Hodges Oak Park school. Roy married Louise Meyer in 1950. He sold insurance for 40 years and retired in 1990. Roy was a one-time deacon and treasurer and a long- time active servant of Southwest Church of Christ. Roy's passions were his family, his church, watching football and baseball and having coffee with his friends. He had a flirtatious and playful spirit and was loved by many. He will be greatly missed and long remembered. At the time of his death, survivors included his loving wife, Louise; four children, Pam Robbins of Centerville, Ohio, Roy Gray Jr. and Barbara Ashley, both of Frisco, and Glen Gray of San Antonio; and seven grandchildren.
