Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1942

Jess Favors JESS WILLIAM FAVORS, Chief Petty Officer, retired U.S. Navy, of Floresville, TX was born Sept. 7, 1922, and died on Feb. 14, 2003 at the age of 80. He was buried with military honors at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX. He graduated in 1942 from Ranger High School at Ranger, TX and then joined the U.S. Navy and became a combat veteran of WW II, retiring after 23 years of service. A member of the Masonic Lodge of Beeville, TX and a member of the VFW Post #837 in San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Martha Elizabeth Favors; brother, Oscar Lee Favors & sister, Naomi Favors Statler. At the time of his death, he was survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Betty Jo Favors, of Floresville; daughter, Kristy Edwards Leinneweber of Floresville, TX; grandchildren, Evan and Shelby Leinneweber of Floresville, TX, Tess Martinez and husband Sonny of Denton, TX; great-grandchildren, Denisha, Zachary, Giselle and Lexie Martinez of Denton, TX; sister-in-law, Phyllis J. Favors and her children Oscar Lee Favors, Jr., Martha Ann Mioni, Mildred Jane Smith, Robert Jess Favors, Michael Jay Favors and Mary Jo Vonasek; nieces, Carol Ann Smith, and Martha Sue Dillin; nephews, Tivis Edward Statler, & Charles William Statler.
