Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1942

June Anderson Lawson WANDA "JUNE" ANDERSON LAWSON, 94, of Midland, TX, peacefully passed into heaven on Aug. 9, 2019, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. She was born March 30, 1925 in Eastland, TX to Edgar Ross & Bessie Burch (RHS-1922) Lee Anderson. June attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1942 at Ranger, TX. June met the love of her life while visiting a friend at the University of Texas. After a short courtship, June & Royce Lawson married in Aug. of 1946. While Royce was employed with Humble Oil and Refining Company, they lived in the Texas Gulf Coast, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, West Texas and New Mexico, finally moving to Midland in 1963. She was a devoted wife, mother and grand- mother. The most important things in her life were God & her family. June was a bright light to everyone that knew her and will be remembered for her sweet disposition and quick humor. She was a member of North Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Royce, and her son Kyle. She is survived by her two grandsons, Andrew H. and Travis R, and great- grandson Kent, all of Midland. SON: KYLE ROSS LAWSON, 57, of Midland, TX passed away on Sept. 14, 2015. Kyle was born on Nov. 16, 1957 in Roswell, NM to Royce & June Lawson. The family moved to Midland in 1964. During his childhood Kyle gained a lifetime love for the family's ranch outside of Capitan, NM, becoming an avid hunter, gun collector and horseman. Kyle graduated from Midland High School in 1976 and attended Texas A&M University, becoming an Aggie for life. After attending Texas A&M, Kyle joined his father as a geologist for the family's company, Centurion Energy. While at A&M, Kyle gained a love for sports photography, oftentimes sneaking onto Kyle Field during football games to take photos. This love for photography would extend throughout his life, as Kyle would attend any local sporting event just to snap a few good shots. Already having eclectic taste, Kyle became interested in the arts with his favorite hobbies being pottery and later in life becoming a painter. Kyle will be remembered for his quick humor, upbeat personality and caring nature. There was no one Kyle wouldn't take time to give a lending hand. Kyle is survived by his mother, June Lawson; son, Andrew Lawson; son, Travis Lawson and wife Dedria and their children, Kent and McKinley, all of Midland. His father Royce Lawson precedes him in death.
