GEORGE WESLEY MOORE, JR., 69, was born Nov. 29,
1925 & was in the Ranger High School Class of 1944.
He died on June 15, 1995, at Ranger, TX. His parents
were George & Della Moore and he had sisters Ruby
Griffin and Mary Alice Tarrant. They lived on the
Moore's farm outside of Ranger.
SISTER: MARY ALICE MOORE TARRANT, 87, a retired Dillard's
designer dress sales and model, died Aug. 22, 2005, in Fort
Worth, TX, with burial in Colony Cemetery near Ranger, TX.
Mary Tarrant was born Jan. 11, 1918, in Ranger. Her childhood
was spent in Ranger, working on the family farm. Known as Mamie,
she married L.D. Tarrant in March of 1943, and moved to Fort
Worth. She worked at the Convair bomber plant during World War
II. While raising five children, she was employed by Dillard's
Department Store in Fort Worth in designer dress sales, and
modeled for several years before retiring to the family farm
in Ranger.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, L.D.,
who died in 1999; her parents, George & Della Moore; sister,
Ruby Griffin; and brother, George Wesley Moore Jr. (RHS-1944).
A very spiritual woman, she loved living in the country, where
her passions included family and friends, gospel music, gardening,
nature, reading and sewing, all with her most trusted friend and
protector, Troubles the dog. The farm was her Tara, and she said
she would only trade it for a mansion in the sky. During the last
few years she enjoyed the company of her special friends at the
Ernest Tubb Record Shop in the Fort Worth Stockyards, where her
memory and apple cake will be dearly remembered. A special thanks

Choat of the Music in the Morgan Manner radio show. A special
recognition to Ellis County Bluegrass for singing the tribute at
her service.
Survivors: Daughters, Mary Knight of Austin, Karen Lee and husband,
Dennis, of Fort Worth; sons, David Tarrant and wife, Missy, of
Mansfield, Kenneth Tarrant of Austin, Donald Tarrant of Eastland;
and grandsons, Zachary Tarrant and wife, Dana, of Weatherford,
John Tarrant of Mansfield and Jeffrey Knight of Austin.
