Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1950

Doris Squires DORIS MARIE SQUYRES HIGHSMITH, 53, died in June of 1985 while living in Ranger, TX, with buria at Bullock Cemetery near Ranger. She was born Jan. 5, 1932, to Cordie Lheo Stephenson & Willie Leo Squyres. Doris attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1950 and was married to Billy Highsmith (RHS-1951). They operated the Cattlemen's Restaurant in Eastland for many years & Doris Marie was very interested in crafts and family genealogy. Her sister was Dorothy Squyres Miller (RHS-1948) and she was also survived by a brother, Don Squyres of Breckenridge. An older sister died young. Doris' daughters are Carolyn Highsmith Monroe (RHS-1973), Pat Highsmith Proffit (RHS-1977), & Anita Highsmith Boone (RHS-1981). BROTHER: DOYLE DON SQUYRES, 69, of Breckenridge, TX died on Feb. 3, 2005, with burial in the Bullock Cemetery near Ranger, TX. Doyle Don Squyres was born on June 29, 1935 in Ranger, TX, to parents Willie Leo Squyres and Cordie Stephenson Squyres. He grew up and went to school in Ranger and has been a resident of Breckenridge for the past 29 years. He married Dolores Stewart Deakins in July of 1993 in Breckenridge. Don was a carpenter by trade and his favorite things were country music, his guitar, hunting, fishing and his family. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; two sisters, Doris Marie Highsmith (RHS- 1950) and Dorothy Lee Miller (RHS-1948); a wife, Jeri Squyres, who died on Oct. 2, 1992; and a daughter, Donna Blasingime (RHS-1974), who died in 2003. Don is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Dolores of the home; one son, Frankie Squyres (RHS-1978) and wife, Danna of San Antonio; and one daughter, Karen Squyres Welle (RHS-1979) of Breckenridge. Also a step-daughter, Jana Deakins of Temple and 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
