Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1957

Pat Gallagher PATRICIA ANN "PAT" GALLAGHER, 78, passed away at home in Arlington, TX on Oct. 1, 2018. Pat was the daughter of C.D. and Alta Gallagher, and graduated from Ranger High School in 1957 at Ranger, TX. In 1960, she graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Fort Worth and married Gene Grabber of Umbarger, TX. They moved to Canyon, TX, where they were members of St. Ann's Catholic Parish and Patty worked at Neblett Hospital and Rex Reeves Elementary School in Canyon. After the family relocated to Arlington, TX, in 1977, Patty continued nursing at Arlington Memorial Hospital, Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, as a claims analyst for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Dallas, and at Six Flags Over Texas. In 2007, Pat retired from the position of occupational health nurse for the US Postal Service, after 21 years of service. Patty selflessly cared for family, friends and neighbors throughout her life. She was a voracious reader, a world traveler and a lover of dogs, flowers & the great outdoors. But her favorite role in life was that of "Grandma Pat" to Christopher, Emily, and Anthony, and later "Rahrah Pa" to great-grandsons, Dawson and Benny. Pat's family is grateful for the help and support they received from the Alzheimer's Association, the Easter Seals respite services, and Community Hospice of Texas. Pat's body has been donated to the University of North Texas Health Science Center, in the hopes that the knowledge gained will help conquer vascular dementia. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Rita Gallagher Parker (RHS-1938), Marie Gallagher Daskevich (RHS- 1942), Bettye Gallagher Bohan (RHS-1945) and Bert Gallagher Allen (RHS-1952); her son, David Grabber; and two grandsons, Joe and Henry Grabber. Survivors: In addition to her grandchildren and great-grand- children, she is survived by her daughter, Becky Long, son- in-law, Tom; daughter-in-law, Mary Grabber; granddaughter-in- law, Kelley Long; her faithful poodle and constant companion, Sammy; and a host of extended family.
