BILLY C. LAWSON, 55, of Werthiem, Germany, formerly
of Ranger, TX, died in Silver Spring, MD on May 26,
1995. He was taken back to Germany for burial.
He was born Aug. 29, 1939 in Ranger to J.W. & Treta
Hilburn Lawson. He grew up in Ranger and graduated from
Ranger High School in 1958. He joined the U.S. Army in
1958 and went overseas in 1959. He married Elke Siefert
in Wertheim, Germany. He served in Vietnam and remained
in the military receiving the rank of Sergeant First Class
before retiring after serving over 20 years. He was a
member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors at the time of his death include his wife, Elke
Lawson of Wertheim, Germany, two daughters, Treta Marie of
Nordlingen, Germany and Deborah Lawson of Wertheim; three
stepsons, Tomas, Andrias, & Edmund; two brothers, Robert
Lawson (RHS-1944), of Eastland. Joe C. Lawson (RHS-1955)
of Atascosa County; sister, Florence Lawson Cogburn (RHS-
1942) of Eastland; several grandchildren; and numerous
nieces & nephews.
