VERNON S. LACKEY, 77, of Lockhart, TX passed
away on April 28, 2023.
He was born in Bastrop, TX to the late Valon H. Lackey
& Lucille M. Taylor Lackey on June 16, 1945. He attended
Ranger High School in the Class of 1964 at Ranger, TX
for a short time. Vernon lived in Lockhart most of his
life. He began ranching in the 1970's until the mid-
2000's and was known for his custom barbwire fences.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings:
Donald Lackey (RHS-1964) and Daphane Lackey Templeton
(RHS-1960).
Vernon is survived by his nephews, Daniel McClendon &
Cody Templeton; nieces, Charlene, Debbie and Cheryl;
his sister-in-law, Mary Frances Lackey and numerous
grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
