Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1989

Steven Gawlik STEVEN W. GAWLIK, 34, died on Feb. 25, 2006 at Lancaster, CA from complications related to surgery to repair a fractured spine and multiple ruptured discs. Steven was born May 11, 1971, in Alice, TX, to Dorothy Lois Hartman & Michael James Gawlik. He attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1989 at Ranger, TX and served in the U.S. Air Force where he received training in electronics. He owned and operated a hot rod fabrication shop in Las Vegas, NV, until the re-fracture of his spine caused his health to deteriorate. Steven taught himself computers and grew that into a very successful technology support business that he still maintained on a part-time basis until his death. He taught himself about cars and had created and improved upon many internal parts of a hot rod engine to advance engine performance. Steven was an energetic and funny man who had a love for his nieces & nephews that was remarkable. He was an intelligent, talented and gifted man who will be missed by all who knew him. Steven married Judy Young Kim of Lancaster, CA, in Dec. of 2004, where they had lived together for the past six years. More recently they had lived in Las Vegas, NV. Steven also leaves behind his two cats, Sylvester and Babie. Steven's brother is Michael James Gawlik, Jr., (RHS-1988) of Soledad, CA, & his sister is Donna Hardwick (RHS-1991) of Littleton, CO.
