VANESSA IVY MOWERY, 18, died on Feb. 20, 1997,
after a lengthy illness, with burial was in
Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
Miss Mowery was born in Overton and moved to Ranger
when she was in the third grade. She continued until
the 10th grade when her illness kept her from finishing
school. She was a member of Mesquite and Rusk Street
Church of Christ.
Survivors at the time of her death include her parents,
William and Barbara Mowery of Ranger; one sister,
Deloise Mowery (RHS-1999) of Ranger; her paternal
grandfather, George Mowery, Sr. of Kilgore; & her
maternal grandfather, Robert Risinger of Gerry, TX.
FATHER; WILLIAM OTTO MOWERY, 63, of Ranger, TX was
called to our Heavenly Father on Jan. 15, 2021. He
suffered from avery Rapidly disorder of ALS (Lou
Gehrig’s Disease).
William was born in Hobbs, NM on Sep. 27, 1957. As
a kid he moved around a lot due to his dad working
in the oil field. His family finally landed their
boots in Kilgore, TX in 1967. Kilgore is where he
grew up and began to work in the oil field. He met
his wife Barbara and they married after only three
dates. In 1986 He, Barbara and their two daughters
moved to Ranger for better job opportunities where
they resided at the time of his death. William was
a strong, hardworking, loving man that helped anyone
who needed it. He never met a stranger, he believed
in truth, honesty, and loving your neighbors and
believed in holding his loved ones tight with long
hugs because tomorrow is unknown. William was one of
the great ones he made an impact on everyone he met
he will be truly missed and loved forever and always.
William is survived by his loving Wife Barbara Ann
Risinger Mowery, daughters Deloise Mowery McClanahan
and husband William Wayne, Grandchildren Amy and
Ashley McClanahan, Sister; Joan Marie Mowery Ferguson
and Husband Albert Allen, brother George Wylie Mowery
Jr. and wife Bennette Janice Dykes, and brother-in-law
Tom Edward Copeland Sr. Also Surviving are Brother in
Christ Gilbert Cruz Morrals & wife Sherri, a multitude
of Nieces and Nephews His work family at Vulcan and
strangers he never met.
William was preceded in death by his parents George
Wylie Mowery Sr. his Mother Dorothy Elanor Kroll Mowery,
daughter Vanessa Ivy Mowery (RHS-1997), twin boys,
brother John Stephen Mowery and a sister Janda Kay
Mowery Copeland.
